The little spitfire. Every time Jase looks at Briel, he splits in two. He likes her, in a way he doesn't like most people. She is tough as nails and ruled by her ethics, and he knows far too few people in their profession who manage both. Unfortunately, he offended her early in their friendship - partially out of professional strategy and partially out of pride. When he stumbles back into her world after too many years, he can't tell if she will help him or hinder him, and he can't really blame her. When she faces an unexpected danger, he can't decide whether to sacrifice her to her independent spirit so he can serve his own ambitions or to move heaven and earth to save her.
