Briel Cortes likes danger. She likes it so much that she finds herself bored whenever she has to function in a day-to-day capacity. Maybe she runs from boredom because she has trained to face the most challenging circumstances. Or maybe she runs from boredom because of what her mind does to her when she is alone with her thoughts. When her family died over a decade before, she had wrapped up her anxiety and shoved it deep into the most hidden portion of her psyche. The plan had worked perfectly - until recently. Recently, her mind has decided to torment her with memories. Memories of the distant past, but also memories of a more recent time, a time she has purposely forgotten. She worries that if she doesn't get her mind under control, she might lose everything she has worked for. If she doesn't get it under control, she might lose herself completely.
